Who controls your data

What we process

Account and declared car/profile details, including the Country, City / Town and Postal / ZIP code supplied by the user; city-centre coordinates are used for aggregated signup-location reporting and are not precise GPS coordinates. We also process social links, photos, consent choices, login/activity timestamps, QR/NFC scan totals, security logs, sponsorship enquiries and—only with consent—coarse browser, device, language, screen class, referrer and page analytics.

Administrator map

When an authorised administrator opens the signup-location map, the selected map area is requested from OpenStreetMap so that place labels and roads can be displayed. OpenStreetMap receives ordinary connection information such as the administrator's IP address and browser details. ShowCarScan does not send user names, email addresses, profile details or precise home addresses to the map provider.

Why and how long

We process data to provide accounts and public profiles, secure the service, record consent, operate requested communications and, where consent is given, analytics and marketing.
